Mădălina Revenco about the exhibition:
This is the second exhibition of Leonard’s work that I have visited and couldn’t help but notice his sarcastic and nonchalant attitude in his art. The exhibition poster literally said „Please don’t ask me what my art is about“. I both appreciate and admire this approach. Probably many artists feel this way but how many have the guts to say that to your face with an invitation to their display?
His paintings are David Hockney-like in color and David Shrigley-like in content. Leonard reproduces our reality and routine with humour and grendeour. He is not afraid to put us face to face with the mundane emphasizing the absurdity of life through bold shades and thick lines, making the obvious even more so. His work is funny and relatable. It makes you reconsider little things at the same time telling you – „It is what it is“.
